Orpheum Lofts, Art Deco residential tower in Downtown Phoenix, United States.
The Orpheum Lofts is an 11-story building with exposed brick walls, large industrial-style windows, and concrete construction housing 90 residential units. The thick exterior walls provide natural sound insulation for the interior spaces.
The building was constructed in 1931 as the Title and Trust Building and served as Arizona's largest office building at the time. Its conversion to residential use occurred in 2004, marking the end of more than 70 years of commercial operation.
The building displays the Art Deco style typical of 1930s Phoenix architecture, with geometric patterns and materials that shaped the downtown area's visual identity. These design elements remain visible throughout the structure and contribute to the neighborhood's character.
The building is located downtown and provides residents with access to a swimming pool, spa, fitness center, and parking across the street. Visitors should note that this is a private residential building with limited public access.
The rooftop served as a filming location in 1960 for the opening scene of Alfred Hitchcock's Psycho. This connection links the building to one of cinema's most famous sequences.
