Xnaheb

Xnaheb is an archaeological site with multiple stone structures and carved monuments set within a forested area at the base of the Maya Mountains. The ruins spread across the terrain showing how the settlement was organized and constructed.

Archaeological evidence shows this site developed as an extension of Nim Li Punit and became established as a regional center during the Maya period. Its growth was closely tied to the larger power centers of the region.

The carved stelae here record ceremonies, royal lineages, and daily practices of the Maya people. These monuments tell stories about how communities organized their lives and valued their traditions.

Access requires hiking through jungle paths, so it helps to be familiar with the terrain or travel with a guide. Visitors should wear appropriate clothing for forest conditions and allow adequate time for exploration.

Located at the edge where mountains meet jungle, the site gave inhabitants access to diverse resources and trade routes. This geographical position made it a crossroads for exchanging goods and ideas with neighboring communities.
