Kirby Building

The Kirby Building is a 17-story skyscraper at 1509 Main Street featuring Gothic Revival design with ornamental stone details and a prominent tower. Its facade displays intricate decorative elements that reflect the architectural style of the early 20th century.

The structure was built in 1913 by beer manufacturer Adolphus Busch and originally called the Busch Building. Its sale to Kirby Investment Group in 1918 marked a change in ownership and gave it its current name.

The building served as a major shopping hub where Dallas residents gathered for decades. Its role as a commercial meeting place shaped how people in the area connected and spent their time.

The building now functions as a residential complex with loft-style apartments for residents. It sits in downtown Dallas and is easily visible from the street, though interior access is limited to residents.

The building underwent a major transformation in the 1990s when it was completely renovated and converted into residential lofts. This renovation preserved the historic structure while adapting it for modern living.
