Penshurst Mosque

Penshurst Mosque is a place of worship in a residential area with a modern design featuring a minaret and three domes of varying sizes. The building contains separate prayer spaces for men and women and can accommodate about 100 worshippers.

The mosque was established in 1983 when Bosnian immigrants created a place for their religious community to gather. It grew out of efforts by the Australian Bosnian Islamic Society to maintain their faith in their adopted home.

The mosque serves as a gathering place for the local Muslim community, bringing together people of various backgrounds for prayer and learning. Regular Friday gatherings and religious education programs help maintain connections within the neighborhood.

In 2018 the building underwent significant modifications that added a 16-meter minaret and redesigned three domes with varying proportions. This renovation gave the structure a more contemporary appearance and increased its visibility in the local area.
