The structure, completed in 1927 for Dade County Security Company, served multiple financial institutions including Pan American Bank and Metropolitan Bank throughout its operational years.
The building reflects Miami's transformation into a financial center during the 1920s, when numerous banks established headquarters to support expanding commerce and population.
Following extensive renovations in 2017, the Security Building houses office spaces with modern amenities while preserving its original architectural elements and banking vault.
The ground floor vault of this National Register of Historic Places building has been transformed into a dedicated quiet room for current occupants.
