The Wells Fargo Center, also called Met 2, is a modern high-rise building in downtown Miami housing office spaces along with two hotels. The complex includes the JW Marriott Marquis Miami, the Hotel Beaux Arts, and a large parking facility for guests and workers.
Construction began in 2006 and was completed in 2009, with the building formally inaugurated in 2010 as part of the four-building Metropolitan Miami complex. The project drew attention through NBA star Shaquille O'Neal, who formed the O'Neal Group development company in 2006; Metropolitan Miami was the group's first project.
