Wells Fargo Center, Skyscraper in Downtown Miami, US.
The Wells Fargo Center, also called Met 2, is a modern high-rise building in downtown Miami housing office spaces along with two hotels. The complex includes the JW Marriott Marquis Miami, the Hotel Beaux Arts, and a large parking facility for guests and workers.
Construction started in December 2011 following design adjustments made during shifting real estate market conditions and finished in January 2015. The project emerged during a period of economic revitalization in downtown Miami.
The development received a LEED Gold certification and Urban Land Institute Vision Award, marking its position in sustainable urban architecture.
The building sits in the heart of downtown and is easy to reach via main streets. Visitors to the hotels or offices will find abundant parking directly within the complex.
Archaeological finds from the 7th century were uncovered during construction, revealing that the site had been inhabited for centuries. These discoveries prompted collaboration between the developers and historical preservation specialists.
