Knight International Center, Entertainment and convention complex in Downtown Miami, Florida, United States
The James L. Knight Center is an entertainment and convention complex in Downtown Miami, opened on October 2, 1982, and named for newspaper publisher James L. Knight, who gave over one million dollars toward its arena. It holds the James L. Knight Center Theater, renamed in 2013, the Miami Convention Center with its North, Central and South Halls, the Riverfront Exhibition Hall, the Ashe Auditorium and the Miami Lecture Hall, plus the adjoining Hyatt Regency Hotel. The complex stands along the Miami River near Bayfront Park.
The complex sits along the Miami River beside Bayfront Park, and the Metromover's Knight Center station serves it directly. The Hyatt Regency Hotel is part of the same complex, so hotel guests reach the halls without going outside. The theater was renamed in 2013, so older signage and tickets may still say James L. Knight Center.
