Met 3, Mixed-use skyscraper in Downtown Miami, US.
Met 3 is a 32-story mixed-use skyscraper in downtown Miami that combines residential apartments above a commercial ground floor. The building brings together living spaces and retail to activate the street and serve both residents and visitors.
The original concept emerged in the 2000s but underwent significant revision before construction started in 2011. The project scaled down from earlier ambitious plans, eventually resulting in the 32-story structure that stands today.
The Metropolitan Miami complex, including Met 3, represents the vertical growth trend that transformed Downtown Miami's architectural character in the early 21st century.
A Whole Foods Market occupies the ground floor, providing direct access to groceries and daily necessities without leaving the building. The downtown location makes it convenient for pedestrians to reach from the surrounding neighborhood.
The project was co-developed by the O'Neal Group, the real estate company of NBA player Shaquille O'Neal. This marked one of his earliest ventures into commercial real estate development.
