Alfred I. DuPont Building

The Alfred I. DuPont Building is an Art Deco skyscraper in downtown Miami with 17 stories, marble and limestone walls, hand-painted ceilings, and streamlined moderne design elements. The structure displays ornate details and functional elegance throughout its floors from that era.

Construction of the skyscraper in 1939 marked Miami's recovery from the Great Depression and the building served as headquarters for the 7th Naval Fleet during World War II. This dual significance shaped the structure's early role in the city.

The building preserves its original bank design with 1930s teller windows that now function as bars, and former vault spaces have been converted into event areas for modern use.

The building provides various areas for visitors to explore, including event spaces and restored historic rooms that showcase its past. Access is through the main entrance on the ground floor, from which different levels can be reached.

The building contains 30-foot hand-painted ceilings that adorn the former bank headquarters and are now visible on the mezzanine level of an event space. These artistic details rank among the most notable features of its interior.
