Manresa, Fine dining restaurant in Los Gatos, California.
Manresa was a fine dining restaurant with minimalist interior design that presented ingredients through a multi-course tasting menu. The kitchen worked with California products and techniques, carefully composing each dish without relying on a set daily menu.
Chef David Kinch opened the restaurant in 2002 and eventually earned three Michelin stars. It closed in December 2022 after two decades of operation.
The name comes from Saint Ignatius of Loyola's spiritual retreat, reflecting the chef's philosophy of contemplation through food. Diners experienced this meditative approach as they progressed through courses designed to engage all senses.
The restaurant was located on Village Lane and required advance reservations for each visit. Wine pairings were available with each course and contributed to the overall experience.
The kitchen worked closely with local farms and sourced ingredients directly from producers in the region. These partnerships allowed it to create dishes that reflected the character of California's Central Coast.
