Heceta Head Light, Lighthouse at Heceta Head, Oregon, United States.
The lighthouse stands 56 feet tall on a 205-foot headland, projecting a beam visible for 21 nautical miles across the Pacific Ocean.
Construction began in 1892 with a crew of 56 workers using bricks from San Francisco and stones from the Clackamas River at a cost of 80,000 dollars.
The Siuslaw Indians traditionally used this coastal area, known as ɫtúwɪs, for hunting sea lions and collecting seabird eggs from offshore rocks.
The lighthouse offers guided tours from 11 AM to 3 PM during summer and 11 AM to 2 PM in winter, with public access to the ground floor.
The assistant lightkeeper's house, constructed in 1893, now operates as a bed and breakfast under United States Forest Service management.
