Salt Creek Falls

Salt Creek Falls is a waterfall in Willamette National Forest, Oregon, that plunges roughly 286 feet straight down into a deep gorge. The water drops with force into a natural basin surrounded by rock walls and forest.

The waterfall was discovered and documented in 1887 by Frank Warner and a Molala Native American during an expedition to the area. This early exploration brought attention to the natural feature at this location.

The waterfall received its name from nearby salt springs that attracted local wildlife and served as natural gathering places for indigenous communities.

The main viewing area is accessible by wheelchair from the parking lot, making it easy to see the waterfall without hiking. Walking paths branch out from there if you want closer views or different angles of the falls.

The pool at the base of the falls reaches a depth of about 66 feet and is continuously fed by the plunging water. This deep basin creates a moist microclimate that supports lush vegetation around the waterfall.
