Jackson Bottom Wetlands Preserve

The 635-acre preserve contains wetlands, riparian zones, and woodlands that sustain multiple species of birds, mammals, amphibians, and native plants.

The land transformed from agricultural fields to a protected wildlife sanctuary through conservation efforts initiated by local environmental organizations in the late 20th century.

The Education Center provides research opportunities and educational programs focused on wetland ecosystems and environmental preservation for students and community members.

Visitors can access the preserve daily from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with a suggested donation of two dollars for individuals aged ten and older.

More than 150 bird species, including Bald Eagles, Cackling Geese, and Herons, make seasonal appearances throughout the preserve during their migration patterns.
