Avi Resort & Casino, hotel and casino in Nevada, United States
Avi Resort & Casino is a hotel and entertainment complex in Laughlin, Nevada, set on the bank of the Colorado River. The property includes a casino floor, several restaurants, outdoor pools, a golf course, and a multi-screen theater.
The resort opened in 1995 and was developed by the Fort Mojave Tribe, whose roots in the Colorado River region go back many generations. Since opening, it has drawn visitors from the neighboring states of California and Arizona.
The Fort Mojave Tribe's heritage is visible throughout the building in the form of traditional patterns and design details woven into the walls and interior spaces. These elements give the property a character that sets it apart from other casinos along the Colorado River corridor.
The property sits close to the California and Arizona borders, so it draws visitors from all three states throughout the year. Weekends and holidays tend to be busier, so arriving on a weekday gives more room to move around comfortably.
This is one of only two casinos in Nevada run by a Native American tribal community, which makes its setting and ownership unlike most others in the state. The property also has an RV park along the riverbank, offering a very different way to stay overnight right on the water.
