Campbell Field, Football stadium in Golden, US

Campbell Field is a stadium in Golden with seating for around 4,000 spectators arranged across multiple sections, each offering clear views of the playing surface. The facility includes parking areas, food and beverage concessions, and restroom facilities throughout.

Opened in February 1893 as Athletic Park, the field hosted its first football game on October 7, 1893, a 6–0 Mines win over Denver. Renamed Brooks Field in 1922 for trustee Ralph D. Brooks, it became Campbell Field in 2010 for Harry D. Campbell and Alumni Field at Marv Kay Stadium in 2022. Baseball moved to Darden Field in 1937, and the surface went from dirt to grass in 1922 and to synthetic turf in 2010.

The field's name honours Harry D. Campbell, a member of the undefeated 1939 team and later a benefactor; it was renamed for him in 2010, after decades as Brooks Field. The west slope, where early crowds of over 1,000 watched from the hillside, became the McKee West End Zone in 2023, adding seating and a beer garden.

The field sits in a clay pit below street level, so spectators historically watched from the surrounding slopes; the McKee West End Zone, opened in 2023 on that slope, now provides formal seating, a beer garden and its own refreshment stand added in 2025. The 1988 renovation added a central concourse with steps down to field level.

The west slope where early crowds of over 1,000 stood to watch games was scooped out in the 1930s by a Federal Emergency Relief Administration project to build a running track. In 2023 the McKee West End Zone opened on that same slope, adding seating and a beer garden.
