Camp George West Historic District, Military historic district in Golden, Colorado.
The Camp George West Historic District includes multiple military structures, an ammunition igloo, and a bunker spread across the grounds in Golden.
Established in 1903, the district functioned as a National Guard base and rifle range while artillery practice took place on nearby Green Mountain.
The buildings within the district represent military architectural designs from the early twentieth century, including Bungalow and Craftsman styles.
The site currently functions as a correctional facility, police training academy, and emergency operations center at 15000 South Golden Road.
The Department of Defense conducts ongoing investigations in the area to identify unexploded ordnance from past military training operations.
