Santa's Workshop, Christmas-themed amusement park at Pikes Peak, Colorado
Santa's Workshop is a Christmas-themed amusement park on the slopes of Pikes Peak at about 7,500 feet elevation. The park spreads across 25 acres of mountainside and includes roughly 28 rides, such as a Ferris wheel and an old carousel.
An artist from Walt's studio designed this park in 1955, and it opened to visitors on June 16, 1956. The location has operated with its Christmas theme from the start and has remained a destination since then.
Santa Claus receives visitors at his mountain home and listens to their wishes. Families come here to share in the holiday spirit and create memories together throughout the year.
The park operates from mid-May through December 24th and sits on a mountainside, so be prepared for changing weather. Comfortable shoes are a good idea since the terrain is uneven and hilly.
A permanent ice formation marks the North Pole at the center of the park. Staff members in holiday costumes maintain the festive feel throughout the year.
