Payette Lakes Club is a three-story wooden building set on a knoll with views over Big Payette Lake, measuring 30 by 21 meters (100 by 70 feet). The structure displays post and beam construction with wooden brackets, gable details, and multiple roof dormers throughout its design.
The structure was built between 1914 and 1915 by contractor Fenton G Cottingham during early recreational development in central Idaho. Its construction marks a period when leisure clubs emerged as places for community gathering in mountain regions.
The clubhouse serves as a gathering place where members connect with each other and enjoy shared interests centered on the surrounding natural environment. The lakeside setting creates a social atmosphere for outdoor pursuits and community engagement.
