Bahrain World Trade Center, Twin skyscraper complex in Manama, Bahrain
Bahrain World Trade Center consists of two towers rising 240 meters high and connected by three bridges positioned at different levels across their faces. The complex houses office spaces, shops, and restaurants spread across approximately fifty floors within the twin structure.
Construction began in 2004 and reached completion in 2008, marking a turning point in the city's economic expansion. The project reflected the region's growing investment in modern commercial development during that decade.
The architectural design by Atkins incorporates traditional Arabian maritime elements, with the towers shaped to reflect the forms of sailing vessels.
The towers are primarily designed for business use with multiple entrances and good accessibility for visitors and workers. Visit during business hours when most shops and dining venues are open and active.
Three large wind turbines are mounted on the connecting bridges and help power the complex. This renewable energy integration sets it apart as an environmentally conscious commercial structure in the Gulf region.
