Sacred Heart Church is a Roman Catholic church in Manama and one of two such facilities serving the island nation. The complex encompasses the main sanctuary, a community center, an adoration chapel, and a school operated by the Apostolic Carmelite Sisters.
Construction began with the laying of the foundation stone in 1939, and the first Christmas midnight mass took place later that same year. The church became the first Catholic establishment of its kind anywhere in the Persian Gulf region.
