Shaikh Isa Causeway, Transportation artery in Manama, Bahrain.
The Shaikh Isa Causeway extends 2.5 kilometers across the water, connecting Busaiteen with the Diplomatic Area near Bahrain Bay through multiple traffic lanes.
The causeway, inaugurated on January 7, 1997, was constructed to reduce traffic congestion between Muharraq Island and the main Bahrain Island.
The structure bears the name of Shaikh Isa bin Salman al-Khalifa, former emir of Bahrain, and features white triangular columns representing traditional sailing vessels.
The 32-meter wide roadway carries thousands of vehicles daily between the islands, forming a critical link in Bahrain's transportation infrastructure.
The Bahrain Post Office commemorated the causeway's opening by issuing a special stamp in 1997, marking its significance in the nation's development.
