Mayfair Gardens, Residential complex in Kwai Tsing District, Hong Kong.
Mayfair Gardens is a residential complex comprising eight buildings with approximately 1,912 apartments situated along Sai Shan Road on Tsing Yi island. The development includes communal spaces and outdoor areas for residents.
Sun Hung Kai Properties developed Mayfair Gardens between 1982 and 1984 as the first private housing development on Tsing Yi. This project marked the beginning of residential development on the island.
Recreational facilities including tennis courts, swimming pools, and basketball courts serve as gathering places for residents in their daily routines. These spaces form the social heart of the residential community.
The complex is served by multiple bus routes connecting residents to Cheung Wang and Tsuen Wan. The nearest bus terminal is conveniently located close to the residential area.
Safety concerns about a nearby oil depot led to the cancellation of three planned buildings. The reserved land was converted into recreational facilities instead.
