Mustafa Kemal Atatürk Monument, Baku, Bronze monument in Nasimi district, Azerbaijan
The Mustafa Kemal Atatürk Monument stands 10 meters tall at the intersection of Samad Vurgun and Bakikhanov streets, featuring a bronze statue on a stone pedestal.
The monument was unveiled on May 17, 2010, during a ceremony attended by Presidents Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan and Recep Tayyip Erdogan of Turkey with their spouses.
The monument represents the strong diplomatic relationship between Azerbaijan and Turkey through its placement near the Turkish Embassy in Baku.
Visitors can read informative plaques describing Atatürk's vision for democracy and republics while exploring the surrounding park area.
The statue was created by Omar Eldarov, the Rector of the Academy of Arts of Azerbaijan and recognized as the People's Artist of the Republic.
