Nansha District, Administrative district in Guangzhou, China
Nansha District spreads across the southern Pearl River Delta and functions as a major trade and transportation hub in Guangdong Province. The area is organized into nine administrative divisions, including Zhujiang Subdistrict and Huangge Town.
The area split from Panyu District in 1993 and gained formal status in 2005, then was recognized as a State-level New Area in 2012. This recognition marked a turning point for its development as an economic center.
The district blends traditional celebrations with modern development, visible in its technology parks, port activities, and gathering spaces like the Nansha Wetland Park. Visitors can observe how local life mixes heritage practices with contemporary routines.
The area is well served by two metro lines that connect it to central Guangzhou and run regularly. Visitors should plan around peak traffic times when moving around.
The wetland area in the south is a rare nature reserve amid rapid urban development. This green space offers visitors a contrast to the surrounding modern infrastructure.
