The National Centre for the Performing Arts (NCPA), also known as the National Grand Theatre, is a multi-purpose arts center located in Beijing, China.
Designed by French architect Paul Andreu and opened in December 2007, it's one of the most important cultural facilities in China.
The NCPA hosts various types of performances including opera, ballet, symphony, chamber music, drama, traditional Chinese opera and folk music.
The NCPA is accessible via subway line 1 at Tiananmen West station and line 2 at Tiananmen East station.
Its distinctive ellipsoid dome design, made of titanium and glass, is said to look like an egg floating on water.
