Liuhe Pagoda, Octagonal pagoda at Yuelun Hill, Hangzhou, China

The Liuhe Pagoda rises 59.89 meters with thirteen exterior levels and seven interior floors, featuring an octagonal design facing the Qiantang River.

Initially constructed in 970 during the Wuyue Kingdom period, the pagoda underwent complete reconstruction in 1165 following its destruction in 1121.

The structure incorporates traditional Chinese architectural elements with carved figures of animals, flowers, and birds adorning each of the seven interior ceilings.

Visitors can access all seven floors through an internal spiral staircase, with each level containing four distinct sections including corridors and chambers.

The pagoda functions as a navigation aid for ships on the Qiantang River, with 104 iron bells attached to the corners of its multiple eaves.
