Zhakou White Pagoda, Stone pagoda in Hangzhou, China.
The nine-floor octagonal Zhakou White Pagoda rises 14 meters high on Baita Hill near the intersection of the Grand Canal and Qiantang River.
The pagoda dates from the Five Dynasties period and received national protection status in 1988 as a Major Historical and Cultural Site.
Stone relief sculptures across the pagoda's floors illustrate Buddhist concepts of nine mountains and eight seas through detailed carvings.
The pagoda stands within White Pagoda Park, which opened in 2014 and covers 78 hectares along the north bank of Qiantang River.
Architects Liang Sicheng and Lin Huiyin studied this stone structure in the 1930s while working on the nearby Liuhe Pagoda restoration.
