Wofo Temple, Buddhist temple in Haidian District, China.
The Wofo Temple contains three main halls along a north-south axis, including the Tianwang Hall, Sanshi Buddha Hall, and Recumbent Buddha Hall.
Founded in the 7th century as Doulu Temple, the current structure dates from 1734 and features architectural elements from multiple historical periods.
The temple houses a bronze reclining Buddha statue measuring 5.2 meters in length and weighing 2.5 tons, created in the year 1321.
The temple sits near the Beijing Botanical Garden, 20 kilometers from central Beijing, with buildings designated for monks and guest accommodations.
The original sandstone Buddha carving was replaced with the current bronze sculpture, which remains a central feature of this national heritage site.
