Temple of Azure Clouds, Buddhist temple in Haidian District, China

The Temple of Azure Clouds occupies six distinct levels across a hillside elevation of 100 meters in the Western Hills of Beijing.

Founded in 1331 during the Yuan Dynasty, this Buddhist temple underwent substantial expansion in 1748 under Emperor Qianlong of the Qing Dynasty.

The Hall of Arhats contains 512 statues, including 500 wooden Arhats, 11 Bodhisattvas, and a smaller figure of Ji Gong, representing Buddhist devotion.

Visitors need a supplementary ticket from the Fragrant Hills Park north entrance to access the temple, located 20 kilometers from central Beijing.

The temple houses the Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall, which contains a crystal coffin given by the Soviet government for Sun Yat-sen's remains.
