Sacred Heart Cathedral of Shenyang

The Sacred Heart Cathedral features pointed arches, ribbed vaults, and twin spires reaching 40 meters high, following traditional European ecclesiastical design principles.

French architect Henri Lamasse designed this Roman Catholic cathedral, which was constructed with reparation funds from the Qing government following the Boxer Rebellion.

The cathedral maintains regular Catholic services in both Chinese and English, serving as the primary religious center for the Diocese of Shenyang.

Visitors can access the cathedral through Metro Line 2 or 6 to Haizhu Square, with services held daily from 8:00 AM to 5:30 PM.

The cathedral's stone walls incorporate local construction techniques with European Gothic elements, demonstrating an early 20th-century architectural fusion in Northeast China.
