China Industrial Museum, Industrial museum in Tiexi District, Shenyang, China

The China Industrial Museum is a large exhibition space dedicated to factories, machines, and technical developments throughout Chinese history. The collection includes objects from many regions and shows how manufacturing and industry emerged and changed across the country.

The museum grew out of the Shenyang Foundry, founded in 1939 as the Japanese Takasago Works and renamed Shenyang Foundry in 1956. After its last iron pour on 17 April 2007, the foundry's 1956 sand-casting workshop was kept and opened as the Foundry Museum on 18 June 2007. Construction of a new building began on 18 May 2011, and the China Industrial Museum opened there on 18 May 2012.

The museum reveals how factories and craftsmanship shaped Chinese society and how people made things across generations. You can see how work methods and technologies evolved and what role manufacturing played in daily life.

The museum is located in an older industrial district and is easy to reach by public bus. It makes sense to arrive in the morning to have enough time to explore all the exhibition areas.

The building itself stands on the grounds of a former factory, preserving the history of the place. Visitors walk through rooms that were once actual production areas and now serve as exhibition spaces.
