Shui Yuet Temple, Shantung Street, Chinese temple in Mong Kok, Hong Kong

Shui Yuet Temple is located at 90 Shan Tung Street in Mong Kok, displaying traditional Chinese architectural features and design elements. It houses a notable copper fan dedicated to Kwun Yam and is managed by the Tung Wah Group of Hospitals.

The site was founded in 1884 when Hakka villagers pooled resources to build this temple. It was relocated to its current location in 1926 to make way for road development in the growing city.

The temple serves as a spiritual center where you can see locals making offerings and prayers to deities as part of their daily lives. It reflects how traditional religious practices remain woven into the neighborhood's everyday rhythm.

The temple is accessible during regular hours and welcomes visitors to explore its interior and observe the architectural details. Contact the Tung Wah Group of Hospitals or their Records and Heritage Office for specific visiting information.

During renovation work in 2018, workers uncovered a historic copper fan bearing inscriptions that recorded donations from villagers and female worshippers of earlier generations. This discovery reveals the long history of community support and women's participation in sustaining the temple.
