Shanghai Theatre Academy is a performing arts university located across three campuses on Huashan Road, Lianhua Road, and Hongqiao Road. Founded in December 1945 as Shanghai Municipal Experimental Theatre School, it became the Shanghai Theatre Academy in 1956 following several organizational changes. This transformation established it as a dedicated institution for all aspects of theatrical training.
