Xiantong Temple, Buddhist temple in Wutai County, China.

The Xiantong Temple spans 80,000 square meters and contains over 400 buildings arranged in seven main halls along a central axis in Shanxi Province.

Founded in 68 AD during the Eastern Han Dynasty, the temple received its current name in 1687 under the Kangxi Emperor of the Qing Dynasty.

The temple houses thousands of Buddhist statues, ancient scriptures, and serves as the headquarters for the Buddhist Association of Mount Wutai.

Visitors can reach the temple through Xinzhou Wutaishan Airport or by taking trains and buses from major cities in Shanxi Province.

The temple features a copper hall weighing 50,000 kilograms, constructed in 1610, containing intricate Buddha carvings on its walls.
