Yong'an Temple

Founded in the 13th century during the Yuan Dynasty, the temple preserves valuable frescoes that document artistic and social aspects of medieval Chinese society.

The interior walls showcase detailed murals depicting Buddhist teachings, ceremonial practices, and daily activities of people from different social classes.

Visitors can reach the temple via a two-hour bus ride from Datong's main station to Hunyuan, followed by a short taxi journey for 50 yuan.

The temple maintains a policy of opening its halls specifically when visitors arrive, providing an individual viewing experience of the Yuan Dynasty frescoes.
