White Horse Park

White Horse Park is a stone sculpture garden nestled between Xuanwu Lake and Purple Mountain, containing hundreds of carved works and thousands of trees. The grounds integrate these artworks with walking paths that wind through wooded areas and open spaces beside water.

The park opened in 2000 as China's first dedicated carved stone museum, bringing together sculptures gathered from various locations around Nanjing. These pieces come from different time periods and represent artistic traditions that developed over many centuries.

The stone carvings throughout the park reflect different carving styles rooted in religious practice and burial traditions from past centuries. As you walk the paths, you encounter these works as living expressions of what mattered to previous generations.
