Munigou

Munigou is a nature reserve in Sichuan located at approximately 2800 meters in elevation, where lakes, waterfalls, and mountain meadows create a varied landscape. The valley spans a large area that visitors can explore at different sections.

Mounihousi Temple was established in 1663, marking the beginning of recorded human settlement in the valley. This founding brought Tibetan Buddhist traditions to the region.

The valley contains Tibetan Buddhist temples and shrines that visitors still encounter while walking through the area. These religious structures show how spiritual practice remains woven into daily life for local residents.

The valley is accessible by regular bus service from Chengdu, and accommodations near the main areas range from simple guesthouses to established hotels. Visitors should plan for mountain conditions and bring appropriate clothing for the higher elevation.

The Zhaga Waterfall is one of China's largest travertine waterfall formations, surprising visitors with its scale and structure. This geological feature developed over time through mineral-rich water deposits.
