Zhejiang International Circuit, Chinese race track
Zhejiang International Circuit is a motorsport racing track in Shaoxing, in China's Zhejiang province, featuring sixteen turns that include hairpins and chicanes. The track runs across gently rolling land and is equipped with modern facilities for teams, drivers, and spectators.
The track opened in 2016 after around three years of construction, designed by Apex Circuit Design. It soon became a regular venue for professional motorsport series held in China.
The circuit's name refers to the Zhejiang province where it sits. On race days, fans from across China and from abroad come together to watch drivers from many countries compete on the same track.
The circuit is about an hour from Hangzhou and can be reached by bus. It is worth allowing extra time to walk around the site and find good viewing spots along the track.
The lap record is held jointly by Xu Jia and Dries Vanthoor, who set it together driving an Audi R8 LMS GT3. Sharing a record between two drivers is unusual in motorsport and reflects how the lap was set during a team endurance event.
