Raffles City Chongqing, Modern skyscraper complex in Chaotianmen, China.
Raffles City Chongqing is an eight-tower complex in Chaotianmen rising 356 meters with 74 floors of mixed-use spaces including residences, offices, shops, and dining venues. The towers are interconnected by internal passages and share common amenities throughout the development.
This site was transformed following the demolition of a 32-story passenger terminal and the Three Gorges Hotel in 2012. The replacement project represented a major urban renewal effort for the Chaotianmen district.
The complex incorporates design elements inspired by traditional Chinese sailing vessels, honoring Chongqing's deep past as a major trading port along the Yangtze River. This architectural reference connects the city's maritime heritage with its modern development.
The complex features extensive parking across three underground levels and connects directly to local transportation networks. Its location makes it straightforward to reach by public transit and to navigate between different areas of the development.
A 300-meter horizontal skybridge called Crystal connects four towers and houses gardens, restaurants, and viewing areas suspended high above the city. This elevated passageway creates an unusual experience of moving between towers while surrounded by open sky.
