The construction of this major financial center began in August 2010 and reached completion in 2014, marking a new phase in Chongqing's vertical development.
Architect C.Y. Lee incorporated modern design elements into the structure, reflecting the rapid advancement of Chinese urban architecture in the 21st century.
The building contains 43 elevators serving its multiple floors, with dedicated mechanical plant levels integrated throughout the structure for optimal functionality.
The World Financial Center maintained its position as the tallest building in Chongqing until 2017, when the International Trade and Commerce Center surpassed it.
