Chongqing Science and Technology Museum

The Chongqing Science and Technology Museum is a modern museum building in Jiangbei with four floors and extensive exhibition spaces. It presents topics like life sciences, transportation, aerospace, and basic scientific principles in interactive ways.

Construction of the museum began in October 2006 and was funded with substantial investment. The building opened in September 2009 and has served as an important educational facility for the city since then.

The building combines stone and glass in ways that reflect the mountains and waterways of the region. This design makes the museum a visible landmark that celebrates the natural landscape of Chongqing through its architecture.

The museum is open from Tuesday through Sunday between 9:30 and 17:00, and you can reach it easily by CRT line 6 to Grand Theater Station. It is best to arrive early as the exhibitions can be busy at certain times.

The building consists of two zones that form a fan or crystal shape when viewed from above. Rising between 80 and 190 feet (24 to 57 meters), this unusual geometry creates a striking visual feature in the cityscape.
