Dôme des Platières

Dôme des Platières is a summit in the Vanoise massif with steep snow-covered slopes and varied rock formations. The terrain appears wild and exposed, with gradients that constantly shift as you ascend.

Early mountaineers in the 20th century explored this peak and developed climbing routes that guided later ascents. Those initial expeditions helped establish the Vanoise as a recognized climbing destination.

Ascending this summit requires complete mountaineering gear and significant alpine experience. The best window for climbing attempts runs from June through September when conditions are most stable.
