Lac de Tardevant, Glacial lake in La Clusaz, France

Lac de Tardevant is a small natural lake in the combe de Tardevant, in the Aravis range on the commune of La Clusaz, Haute-Savoie. The combe is framed by the Tardevant summit and l'Ambrevettaz to the east, the Tête de Paccaly to the south-east and the rochers de la Salla to the west. A hiking trail climbs the combe toward the Tardevant from the chalets de Paccaly or the refuge de la Bombardellaz.

Lac de Tardevant lies in the combe de Tardevant, a hollow in the Aravis range of Haute-Savoie on the territory of La Clusaz. The sources describe it as a small natural lake of glacial origin, held in a basin beneath the Tardevant summit, l'Ambrevettaz, the Tête de Paccaly and the rochers de la Salla.

The lake lies in the combe de Tardevant, a summer pasture area reached by trails from the chalets de Paccaly and the refuge de la Bombardellaz. Hikers pass these shepherd buildings on the climb, and the routes from Les Confins, the col des Annes and the vallée du Bouchet all converge on the same combe.

The route starts from Les Confins parking lot and follows a marked mountain trail with steady uphill sections. Proper hiking boots and weather protection are essential, as conditions can change quickly at this altitude.

The lake sits in the middle of the Tardevant combe, overlooked by the summit of the same name and the Ambrevettaz to the east, the Tête de Paccaly to the south-east and the Rochers de la Salla to the west. Hikers reach it by a trail climbing the combe from the Paccaly chalets or the Bombardellaz refuge.
