Sept Laux, Chain of mountain lakes in Le Haut-Bréda, France
Sept Laux is a chain of seven alpine lakes embedded in successive steps down a mountain slope. Located at roughly 2150 meters elevation, they occupy a rugged landscape of rock and sparse vegetation.
These lakes formed during the last ice age when glaciers carved deep hollows into the mountain, creating a stepped system of basins. The chain reflects the glacial sculpting that shaped this high alpine zone.
