Baratashvili Bridge

The Baratashvili Bridge is a footbridge crossing the Kura River in Tbilisi, built using a cantilever design. The structure connects the city center with historic neighborhoods and features bronze decorative elements throughout.

The bridge was built in the 1960s and replaced an earlier structure that had occupied the same location. This represented a significant modernization of the city center's infrastructure.

Bronze figures adorning the railings show couples in romantic poses, honoring the Georgian poet Nikoloz Baratashvili for whom the bridge is named. These sculptures reflect local affection for romantic themes and make the bridge a meaningful gathering spot for residents.

The bridge is easy to reach on foot and offers a direct crossing through the city center. Visiting during daylight hours lets you see the bronze details and surrounding area clearly.
