Camenabologue

Camenabologue is a granite mountain in the Wicklow Mountains that rises to 758 meters above sea level. The peak has a prominence of 133 meters and forms a striking part of the mountain range that dominates this region.

The Irish name Céim na mBulóg means 'step of the bullocks' and reflects the historical cattle herding practices that shaped the Wicklow region. This naming reveals how farming traditions influenced the way people related to the landscape.

Camenabologue ranks as the 73rd highest peak in Ireland, earning recognition in multiple classification systems including Arderin, Dillon, and Hewitt categories.

Hikers can reach the summit from several starting points, with Boravore car park offering a maintained track and different route options. Your choice of path depends on your fitness level and how much time you have available.

The southeast top rises to 663 meters and draws fewer visitors than the main summit. This less-visited spot offers a quieter setting for watching wildlife away from the main paths.
