Tulshishyam, village in Gujarat, India
Tulshishyam is a village in Gujarat, India, known for a hilltop temple dedicated to Lord Krishna set within a forested area near Gir National Park. The surrounding area also contains natural hot springs, making it a place that combines religious and natural features.
The temple is believed to have been founded around 700 years ago and has long been part of local tradition. A legend says that Lord Krishna defeated a demon called Tul at this spot, and that story gave the village its name.
The main temple is dedicated to Lord Krishna and draws pilgrims who come to pray and leave offerings. A smaller shrine nearby honors Rukmini Devi, who in local tradition is seen as Krishna's devoted companion.
The road from Una tends to be in better condition than the one from Amreli, making it the easier approach. Wear sturdy shoes for the climb to the temple, and plan your visit outside midday hours to avoid the strongest heat.
A stretch of road near the village is known as a Gravity Hill, where an optical illusion makes vehicles and objects appear to roll uphill on their own. Three hot springs with very different temperatures are found nearby, and one of them reaches close to boiling point.
