Ambardi Safari Park

Ambardi Safari Park is a wildlife reserve in Dhari Taluka that spreads across rolling terrain alongside the Shetrunji river, offering natural habitats for various animal species. The grounds feature expansive areas with native vegetation and wild animals that live protected within these boundaries.

The park was established in 2017 to create habitat for endangered lions after these animals nearly disappeared in the early 1900s. Its creation represented a key effort to help restore populations of these threatened big cats.

The park integrates with local traditions through its location near the Khodiyar temple, connecting wildlife conservation with regional heritage.

Visitors should plan their safari tours well in advance, as bookings fill up quickly during popular periods. The best times for animal watching are early mornings or late afternoons when wildlife is most active.

The reserve is home to impressive populations of lions that have thrived here since being rescued from near extinction and now live in this protected area. Many visitors are surprised to discover these powerful predators in an Indian wildlife sanctuary created specifically for their survival.
