Mahavir Harina Vanasthali National Park

The park encompasses 14.59 square kilometers of grasslands, dry deciduous forests, and scrub jungle with varied vegetation including sandalwood, rosewood, and teak trees.

The land transformed from a private hunting ground of Hyderabad's Nizam rulers into a national park in 1975, marking Lord Mahavir's 2500th birth anniversary.

The park received its name from Lord Mahavir, the 24th Tirthankara of Jainism, reflecting the region's religious connections and conservation values.

Visitors can explore the park through guided tours and safari vehicles from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM every day except Monday, with entry fees of 20 rupees.

The park protects 400 Black Buck deer, recognized as Andhra Pradesh's state animal, alongside 500 other animals and numerous bird species.
