Ethipothala Falls

Ethipothala Falls is a waterfall in the Guntur region where three streams converge into a 21-meter cascade. Water flows abundantly into the Krishna River year-round, creating a powerful rushing effect at the base.

The site held importance in ancient times and preserves Buddhist remnants from the 3rd century BCE, indicating its role as a meditation center. These early connections show it has drawn people for thousands of years.

A paved path leads from the main road to the falls, with parking areas and basic facilities at the entrance. Water flow is most abundant during and after the monsoon season.

A breeding program for Marsh crocodiles operates at the falls' base in their natural setting. Visitors can observe these reptiles in their surroundings where they inhabit pools around the waterfall zone.
